MONSA

Since it is a DNA-protein complex it is recommended to use MONSA - an extended version of DAMMIN for multiphase bead modeling which allows one to fit simultaneously multiple curves.

1) Could you please check the version of AutoRg? For the GUI one it is in the menu Help > About. The latest version is 1.37 and at least the "dot problem" is solved there, you don't have to change the regional settings anymore. (The algorithm is also slightly different from e.g. version 1.33, it som...

Hi Sandra,

yes, it looks like a bug in Primus. I played around with merging and didn't find a way to fix it. I'm sure the upcoming release of AutoMerge it will not have this problem.
Actually such behavior of error values should not affect further data processing too much.

dammiN vs. dammiF

The latest version of DAMMIN is 5.3 and you can download it from our website (see the *.osx file in the archive).

DAMMIF is a reimplementation of DAMMIN, it uses almost the same algorithm but works faster. There is no OSX version of it (see above).

yes, one should always truncate points that are before the first point of the Guinier region (very low angles, close to the beamstop). E.g. the obtained Guinier fit (from AutoRg or another program) is from point 18 to 51 - that means points 1 to 17 should be omitted.

DORIS Shutdown 2008

Due to Petra-III construction work, the DESY DORIS-III ring in Hamburg will be shut down from December 21, 2007 for about 9 months. The operation of all beamlines including X33 (BioSAXS) will be suspended for this period. We expect to resume user operation in late September, 2008.
