Hi all,
I have stepped into the world of SAXS with my first data collection and was wondering if there is a better definition of alpha (P(r)) than a regularization parameter that when large smooths the function and when small fits better.
What are acceptable ranges of alpha? Or does it matter as long as you have a good fit? If there is an auto alpha selection and it selects a small alpha, do the oscillation at high r matter? When can the alpha become deleterious to data analysis (ie bad buffer subtraction/aggregation/etc)?
Any information would be helpful in understanding it, as I have seen wide variation but ultimately give similar P(r).
Thanks.
Matt
