saxs papers discussion subgroup

#1 Post by Alex » 2014.03.06 17:05

Hi

As there is an increasing number of papers where SAXS is being used, I'd suggest to have a subgroup where some particular papers are discusses to (i) provide critics, (ii) pinpoint interesting new methodology and (iii) highlight novel/interesting/challenging applications of SAXS to various (biological) systems.

Previously, I posted on SAXIER forum smth that can be already placed in the subgroup I am proposing:

As a next paper for discussion - I can suggest a recent paper in CELL on Hsp90-Tau complex by NMR/SAXS.

Cheers, Alex

Hi Alex.
Good idea. Maybe it would not be bad to upload the paper to a common accessible depository to facilitate access?

I don't think sharing the actual papers would be a problem in the era of DropBox, Google Drive&co, given there is a separate subgroup for the discussion. I don't think it is good to flood feedback section on that.

I don't think it is good to flood FORUM feedback section with that! I wait till subsection appears.

'Literature' subforum

#6 Post by AL » 2014.03.25 17:26

We do have subforums on SAS Software and Hardware/Instrumentation, discussions about respective papers should go there. I think the rest can go to Literature for now. I promice to split it if it gets too messy.

i thought of posting it in literature, but it is meant for the beginner and i think it is logical to keep it that way, right?

I see what you mean. De facto it is not just for the beginners, there are some advanced discussions there as well. I've changed the description, now it is "Books and reviews on small angle scattering. Discussions and criticism on recent SAXS papers." Feel free to post there! I'll do my best to keep it organized.
