Transmission calculation using Glassy Carbon

#1 Post by manueloliveira » 2017.02.09 17:58

Hello,

I'm a new SAXS user and would like to know how to correct the data for sample transmission with glassy carbon.

I know I must do a measurement with Sample + Glassy Carbon and just glassy Carbon.

But how to I calculated the transmission?

Do I reduce the 2D data to 1D followed by doing the ratio: Intensity (Sample + Glassy Carbon)/Intensity (Glassy Carbon) and get the transmission has a function of the scattering vector.

Or do I integrate the Intensity (Sample + Glassy Carbon) and Intensity (Glassy Carbon) and then do the ratio between them to calculate a transmission coefficient?

Best Regards!
