Running Dammin from Scatter

#1 Post by a2west » 2018.05.08 02:15

Hey there,
I am trying to get together multiple DAMs in order to get an average of what my particle might look like. I am using Scatter to analyze my data, however it is unable to open and run DAMMIN by itself. I am however able to run DAMMIN through the terminal (I am using MacOS 10.13.2), however I am only able to do one run at a time, so doing multiple iterations will be time/labor intensive. I am hoping someone might be able to provide some trouble shooting as to why Scatter is unable to run Dammin by itself, and/or how I might be able to use the terminal to do ten or more consecutive runs with Dammin. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi a2west,

You can run dammin multiple times, with a for loop inside the terminal. If you check the dammif manual you can see the syntax for bash:

$ for i in `seq 1 10` ; do dammif --prefix=lyz-$i --mode=slow lyz.out; done

Best regards

I also have this issue where scatter fails to call DAMMIF/DAMMIN from it's interface.

I've noticed theres a reverse dash on the location call of dammin from Atsas\bin where DAMMIN/F COMMAND C:\Program Files (x86)\ATSAS 3.0.0\bin/dammin.exe

Could this be a bug with Scatter?
